Will Rob Gronkowski’s Return To Football Come In Tampa?

  • Rob Gronkowski looks set to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Gronkowski announced that he’d be back playing football in an interview with TMZ Sports.
  • While he is still a free agent, sportsbooks have removed the odds for him playing on another team.

LAS VEGAS - Rob Gronkowski is returning for another year in the NFL, and it looks like he’ll remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As of February 12, Gronkowski’s odds to return to the Bucs for 2021 were quite favorable.

Where Will Rob Gronkowski Play In The 2021 Season?

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers -650
  • Any Other Team +375

In this case, it seems as though laying the favorite will be rewarded, as Gronk told TMZ Sports that he’d be back playing football for the 2021 season.

There was no mention of him leaving the Buccaneers whatsoever, and it’s hard to picture him abandoning Tom Brady. This has gotten to the point that the sportsbooks have already removed odds on whether or not Gronk will play on the Bucs in 2021.

However, Gronkowski is currently not under contract with the Buccaneers, and they will need to figure out a deal for him if they want him to stay.

When the Patriots traded him to the Buccaneers, he had one year remaining on his deal with the Pats, getting paid $9 million a year.

Now, however, that year is up, and the Buccaneers, who already have Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard to worry about at the TE position, have decisions to make.

However, with the announcement of Gronkowski’s return, and the removal of these odds from the sportsbooks, it’s hard to believe that he will end up anywhere other than the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Gronk came out of retirement to join Tom Brady on this team, and it seems vanishingly unlikely that he’ll end up elsewhere.

The Bucs have several cap tricks that they could pull to make sure that Gronkowski gets paid well and doesn’t count too heavily against the cap in 2021.

If both sides want to come to an agreement, there are surely options on the table, and with the odds off the sportsbooks, it seems like Gronk is going to stay in Tampa Bay.
