Sportsbooks Have These 7 NFL Teams Locked And Loaded For Playoffs

  • The top two teams are the Kansas City Chiefs (-1200) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-650) who played against one another in the 2021 Super Bowl.

NEW YORK – The 2021 NFL season hasn’t even kicked off yet and sportsbooks already have their favorites for who will be making the playoffs.

Seven teams in particular look to be a lock for postseason play and any good sports bettor knows it’s best to get those wagers in as soon as possible before the odds change, ultimately changing the payout amount.

The Seven NFL Teams That Make The Playoff Cut

Betting on the Super Bowl is the biggest game for gamblers to wager on and consequently the biggest day for sportsbooks in regards to business.

But to get to the Super Bowl, two NFL teams have to make it to the playoffs and win a spot in the Championship game. There are seven teams that are slated to go to the playoffs if bookmakers have anything to say about it.

The NFL Playoffs are a big deal. Organizations are on the cusp of being able to play in the most sought after game of the year.

NFL betting sites like BetOnline have made their picks for who they believe will be on that cusp.

NFL Teams Most Favored For Postseason Play

  • Kansas City Chiefs (-1200)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-650)
  • Buffalo Bills (-350)
  • Baltimore Ravens (-300)
  • Cleveland Browns (-225)
  • San Francisco 49ers (-190)
  • Indianapolis Colts (-180)

There’s no question as to why the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a lock to be in the playoffs and it all comes down to their quarterbacks. Not to mention, the two teams had a faceoff against each other in the 2021 Super Bowl where Tampa won by a score of 31-9.

But in reality, it’s about the quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. These athletes are two of the best to play the game and should have no problem leading their teams to postseason play.

The Buffalo Bills are the third favorite, going 13-3 last season. They skyrocketed into having a stellar season after years of ups and downs.

Should the team be anything like last year, they will solidify their seat at the playoffs table.

The Baltimore Ravens did pretty well for themselves, ending at 11-5 for 2020.

With a few tweaks in their offseason and having QB Lamar Jackson throwing for the team, the playoffs should be in the Ravens’ future.

The Cleveland Browns tied with the Ravens in the AFC North with an 11-5 record last season.

The Browns can be fickle though because while Baker Mayfield is a great quarterback, he’s either amazing or he’s off his game and there is no in between. But if they can keep their record the same as they did in 2020, landing in the playoffs should be a mark that even QB Nathan Peterman in his rookie season of the NFL could land.

The San Francisco 49ers completely imploded in 2020, ending the season with a 6-10 record.

However, the 49ers have had some great years of football prior to that and with rookie quarterback Trey Lance, they could make a comeback in 2021 if Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t show up to play.

The Indianapolis Colts ended their 2020 season with an 11-5 record, tied for first in the AFC South.

If they bring that same playbook to 2021, a playoff berth is a cinch. Hopefully, QB Carson Wentz will be able to throw as well as Philip Rivers did last year for the team.
