Patrick Mahomes vs. The Field For NFL MVP Betting

  • Patrick Mahomes is listed at -120 odds to win his second career NFL MVP award.
  • Mahomes has thrown for 3,035 yards, 27 touchdowns, and two interceptions in ten games this season.
  • Russell Wilson has +350 odds of winning the 2020 NFL MVP award.

KANSAS CITYThe NFL’s MVP race has shifted yet again after Week 11 providing NFL bettors with another week of play to decide where to place their bets.

Coming into this week of play Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the favorite to win the award and after his performance against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football, Mahomes has grown his lead on the odds board.

Last week here at BettingSuperBowl, we noted that Mahomes’ MVP odds were picking up steam after Russell Wilson had a rough three-game stretch.

Coming into Week 11, Mahomes was listed at +180 odds to win the 2020 NFL MVP award, now he has strengthened his position in the award race.

Odds TO Win 2020 NFL Regular Season MVP Award

  • Patrick Mahomes -120
  • Russell Wilson +350
  • Aaron Rodgers +550
  • Ben Roethlisberger +900
  • Kyler Murray +900
  • Josh Allen +2500
  • Tom Brady +2500
  • Derek Carr +4000
  • Dalvin Cook +5000

Mahomes is now the betting favorite at -120 odds to win the NFL MVP award and these are the shortest odds we’ve seen any MVP candidate have this season.

After taking the Chiefs on a 75-yard game-winning drive last night Mahomes had his first major MVP moment as the Las Vegas Raiders are a legitimate playoff contender.

Diving deeper as to why Mahomes has already separated himself from the pack in the MVP race is simple. He’s the best player on the best team in the NFL. On top of that Mahomes now leads the NFL in passing yards with 3,035. His 27 passing touchdowns on the season are third-most in the NFL only trailing Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.

Should NFL bettors only look to place bets on Mahomes odds at this point? Not yet but when looking at the field Russell Wilson is the only quarterback that has a legitimate shot to sneak back into the conversation. Since Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers just lost to the Indianapolis Colts, his MVP case took a major hit.

When looking at the field for the MVP race it’s hard to find a quarterback that is having the type of season Mahomes is.

Mahomes has even more room to lock up the NFL MVP before the season concludes as the Chiefs still have matchups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, and Miami Dolphins.

Chiefs Remaining Schedule

@Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Vs. Denver Broncos
@ Miami Dolphins
@ New Orleans Saints
Vs. Atlanta Falcons
@ Los Angeles Chargers

The remaining schedule isn’t a breeze for the Chiefs as they’ll face some of the toughest teams from the NFC but if Mahomes continues to play like he is now, he’ll have his second NFL MVP award locked up before the regular season concludes.

The Chiefs remain one of the best teams in the NFL for one reason and that’s because they have Patrick Mahomes who is showing just why he’s the most valuable player in the NFL.
