LOS ANGELES – Both Joey and Nick Bosa have each paved their own paths as two of the best defensive rushers in the NFL. Sportsbooks have given high expectations on their season props because of that.

The older sibling, Joey, was given a 12.5 total sack number while Nick is looking at a 14-sack total for the season.

Both players are favored to stay under slightly.

  • Over 12.5 +100
  • Under 12.5 -130

Joey Bosa has been a menace to opposing quarterbacks ever since his rookie season in 2016. Since then, he has amassed double-digit sack numbers in four of the six seasons that he has played with his highest being 12.5 in 2017.

Looking at his most recent performance though in 2021, Joey is coming off of a 10.5 sack season. While many could question the logic behind setting his total for the season at 12.5 despite finishing two sacks under last season, there is a strong reason behind this and that is the upcoming schedule for the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers upcoming schedule features 10 games against eight different teams that allowed 40+ sacks in the previous season.

That includes games against the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans, each of which allowed 44+ sacks last season.

  • Over 14 +105
  • Under 14 -135

Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers was given a bigger sack total after his incredible 15.5 sack outing in 2021 – good enough for the fourth most sacks in the league.

That marked the first time in his three years in the league that he has put up double-digit sacks. Oddsmakers set his total correctly, however, the real value here comes on the over due to the 49ers schedule as well.

They have nine games against eight teams that have each allowed 40+ sacks in 2021 as well. That includes their first game of the season against the Chicago Bears who allowed the most sacks in 2021 with 58 and their Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers who let up 52 sacks.

Other 49ers opponents that allowed tons of sacks last season include two games against the Seattle Seahawks (46) and Washington Commanders (43).
