Only 4 NFL Road Favorites Hit The Betting Board This Week

  • The Baltimore Ravens have a 3-0 record this season as the betting favorite and away team.
  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers six-point favorites over the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.
  • The Minnesota Vikings (-155 odds) come into Week 10 as road favorites for the first time this season.

PHILADELPHIA – The NFL regular season is a little more than halfway over as teams start to prepare and position themselves for a playoff push. One of the best ways to gauge how dangerous a team is going into the playoffs is to look at their record as the road team.

Many road teams have to face an uphill battle of having to perform despite not having home field advantage.

In Week 10 of the NFL season there are four matchups where the away team is favored at sportsbooks. Below is a breakdown of the four games with each road team's record as a favorite this season SU and ATS.

Philadelphia Eagles (-4) vs. New York Giants @ 1 p.m. EST:

  • Spread:Eagles -4
  • Moneyline: Eagles -200 vs. Giants +170
  • O/U: 44.5

Winner: Philadelphia (-200). The Eagles are looking to extend their winning streak to three games with a win over the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. The Eagles haven’t been good as a road favorite this season with an 0-1 record, but they get a good matchup against a weak Giants team that should notch them their first win as a road favorite this season.

  • Eagles SU record as Road Favorite: 0-1
  • Eagles ATS record as Road Favorite: 0-1

Take the money line odds on the Eagles here since they’re 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against the Giants.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6) vs. Carolina Panthers @ 1 p.m. EST:

  • Spread: TB (-6)
  • Moneyline: Buccaneers -250 vs. Panthers +210
  • O/U: 50.5

Winner: Buccaneers (-250). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers NFC South showdown will be one of the most entertaining early window games of Week 10.

The Buccaneers have been better SU as the road team this season than they have been ATS, so it’s best to take their -250 odds on Tampa Bay for this matchup.

  • Buccaneers SU record as Road Favorite: 3-1
  • Buccaneers record ATS as Road Favorite: 2-2

The Buccaneers 3-1 SU record as the road favorite should prevail here as they beat this same Panthers team in Week 2, 31-17. If thinking about taking the under for the matchup, do so as the under has hit in 5 of the last seven games when the Bucs are the away team facing the Panthers.

Baltimore Ravens (-7) vs. New England Patriots @ 8:20 p.m. EST:

  • Spread: Ravens -7
  • Moneyline: Ravens -340 vs. Patriots +270
  • O/U: 43.5

Winner: Ravens (-340). The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the more successful road teams this season as they have yet to lose a game.

In Week 10 the Ravens will travel to Gillette Stadium to face the New England Patriots. However, those looking to bet ATS for this game should beware that the Ravens have a 1-2 record ATS as the away team.

  • Ravens SU record as Road Favorite: 3-0
  • Ravens ATS record as Road Favorite: 1-2

The Ravens offense has struggled this season, but they could build some momentum against a depleted Patriots defense. Take the Ravens SU odds at -340 as this might be a close game as Cam Newton might be starting to hit his stride under center for the Patriots.

Minnesota Vikings (-3) vs. Chicago Bears @ 8:15 p.m. EST:

  • Spread: Vikings -3
  • Moneyline: Vikings -155 vs. Bears +135
  • O/U: 43

Winner: Bears (+135). The Minnesota Vikings have hit their stride recently as they’ve won two games in a row. They’ll face their NFC North rival the Chicago Bears in primetime on Monday Night Football.

Due to the Vikings slow start this season, this matchup will be the first game they’re the road favorite.

  • Vikings SU record as Away Favorite: 0-0
  • Vikings ATS record as Road Favorite: 0-0

However, the Vikings have not been great against the Bears as of late. Minnesota has just a 1-5 record ATS in their last five games against the Bears and their SU record isn’t any better at 1-4. The Bears offense has struggled in the past couple of games, but the Vikings defense has underperformed for much of the season.

Take the Bears to win SU as their defense will keep Dalvin Cook in check and force Kirk Cousins to beat them with his arm in what should be a close game.
