NFL Draft Odds: Colleges To Have The Most First Rounders

  • LSU is favored to have more players drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft than Alabama.
  • Auburn is favored to have more first round picks than the Georgia Bulldogs in the NFL Draft.
  • The Clemson Tigers have -160 odds to have more draft picks than Ohio State.

LAS VEGAS — The 2020 NFL draft will still go on as scheduled despite the threat of the coronavirus. However, the draft will be closed to the public and only family members of the drafted players will be able to attend.

As the draft process goes on, betting sites have posted NFL draft odds that pit some of the best college football teams from this season against each other. The props revolve around which teams will have the most first round draft picks.

LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

The defending champion LSU Tigers were the most dominant team in college football and may have the most players drafted in the 2020 draft. In the first round, the LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to be the first player off the board going to the Cincinnati Bengals and after him, LSU may only have one other player drafted in the first round.

LSU is favored with -180 odds to have more players but rolling the dice on the Alabama Crimson Tide at +140 odds might be worth it because wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and safety Xavier McKinney are locks to be first round picks for the Crimson Tide. The odds for LSU to have more first round draft picks depends on where safety Grant Delpit lands as he’ll likely be a late first round pick or early second round pick.

Winner: LSU Tigers (-180)

Clemson Tigers (-160) vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Clemson Tigers always have a top of the recruiting class and that has translated to quite a bit of their players being first round picks. Based on various mock drafts, linebacker Isaiah Simmons will be a top five pick and so will wide receiver Tee Higgins.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were one of the most complete teams in college football and will have at least two first round picks in defensive end Chase Young and cornerback Jeff Okudah. If Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins cracks the first round, the Buckeyes might be able to net bettors a profit on the +120 odds at sportsbooks.

Winner: Ohio State Buckeyes (+120)

Auburn Tigers (-280) vs. Georgia Bulldogs

An SEC showdown in the first round. The Auburn Tigers have -180 odds to have more players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft than the Georgia Bulldogs. Both teams will have at least one player taken in the first round as Auburn defensive lineman Derrick Brown is a lock to go in the first round. After him though Auburn doesn’t have much first-round talent in the draft.

The Bulldogs will have a much harder time getting a prospect drafted in the first round if it’s not running back D’andre Swift coming off the board. However, if looking to bet on underdog odds, Georgia is listed at +240 to have more players taken in the first round. Take Auburn’s odds for the safe bet for this prop.

Winner: Auburn Tigers (-280)

The NFL Draft is still being held in Las Vegas and will be from April 23-25.
