LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Chargers have some of the highest expectations in the NFL ahead of the 2026 season. There are several key factors going into this season that are upholding the Chargers' odds.

Super Bowl sportsbooks are heavily leaning on the Chargers at the top of the board and far out in front of where they went into last season.

Los Angeles Chargers Preseason Odds

  • Super Bowl: +1800
  • AFC Championship: +850
  • AFC West: +185
  • Win Total: 9.5

New Look Chargers Offense

The Los Angeles Chargers finished the 2025 season as a bottom-15 offensive team and top-10 defense. They addressed their need on offense by hiring former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as their new offensive coordinator, which is a sure reason the Chargers Super Bowl odds saw a boost.

McDaniel took the Miami Dolphins from a bottom-15 offense to a top-10 unit in one season and remained there for two consecutive years.

Justin Herbert is hardly to blame either, as he produced a top-10 season last year with 3,727 yards and 26 touchdowns, along with 498 rush yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Herbert did take on a career-high in sacks, though, with 54, which the Chargers addressed this offseason by signing Cole Strange, Tyler Biadasz, and Kayode Awosika, who are all projected starters on the interior line.

On defense, the Chargers kept the core intact, featuring Teair Tart, Tuli Tuipulotu, Denzel Perryman, and Derwin James. They also added Dalvin Tomlinson and drafted Akheem Mesidor in the first round.
