Cowboys Super Bowl 55 Odds Depend On Securing Dak Prescott

  • Dak Prescott has +1800 odds to win the 2020 NFL MVP award.
  • Prescott’s 4,902 passing yards were the second-most in the NFL in 2019.
  • In 64 career starts, Dak Prescott has a 40-24 career record.

DALLASThe Dallas Cowboys have had a busy offseason thus far after cleaning house earlier this offseason by firing longtime head coach Jason Garrett after a disappointing 8-8 season in the books.

Dallas then hired former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy to take over in the wake of Garrett’s departure.

The Cowboys are one of the few teams that have a lot of cap space but will spend most of it resigning their own top players like quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper will likely command top dollar contracts. However, signing Prescott is the number one priority for Dallas this offseason.

Dallas’ front office has said that Prescott is their quarterback of the future, but the two sides have yet to come to an agreement on a long term deal. While the assumption is both sides will reach an agreement before the start of the season.

Prescott is coming off the best season of his career as he set a career-high in passing yards (4,902), passing touchdowns (30) and yards per attempt (8.2). The fourth-year quarterback will be looking to be among the highest-paid quarterbacks when he inks his new deal later this offseason.

Inking Prescott long term gives the Cowboys the best chance at winning a Super Bowl since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Dak has a 40-24 record as the starter and a 1-2 record in the playoffs.

Sportsbooks currently have the Cowboys listed at +2000 odds to win Super Bowl 55 which is the seventh shortest odds when betting on Super Bowl futures. Once Prescott and Cooper have signed long term deals it's safe to assume that these odds will only get shorter.

The teams the Cowboys trail on the odds board are the Green Bay Packers (+1800), New Orleans Saints (+1200), Philadelphia Eagles (+1400), Baltimore Ravens (+750), San Francisco 49ers (+1000), New England Patriots (+1000), and Kansas City Chiefs (+500).

Expect the Cowboys in their first year under Mike McCarthy to become a more pass friendly team that can attack defenses in multiple ways.

One thing is for certain coming into the 2020 season, Dak Prescott will be the Cowboys quarterback on a long-term deal that will probably make him the highest-paid quarterback until the Kansas City Chiefs sign Patrick Mahomes.

Dallas should be a team that makes the playoffs and wins the NFC East this upcoming season. This is why the Cowboys odds to win the Super Bowl should not be overlooked.
