What Are The Odds For Cam Newton To Play For Your Team In 2020?

  • Odds for Cam Newton’s next team have the Washington Redskins favored to land him.
  • The New England Patriots are in need of a new starting quarterback after Brady left.
  • The Miami Dolphins have the third shortest odds to acquire Cam Newton.
  • The Denver Broncos are an underdog destination for Newton to go to.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - As the NFL Free Agency period continues, things just seem to get crazier. One thing that happened is the Carolina Panthers giving permission to Cam Newton to go out and look for a trade as they will be moving on from him.

In doing so, the Panthers will continue their rebuild. The Washington Redskins, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos are all in contention for Cam Newton’s next team odds.

Washington Redskins

The Redskins are in the market for a quarterback again as the front office has had ongoing mixed feelings about Dwayne Haskins. It was reported that Coach Jay Gruden did not even want to draft Haskins from the start and even started Case Keenum over him.

Cam Newton would fit in well here being that the team is going to need a quarterback that fits into their system. If he ends up here, he brings to the table a strong leadership presence that could help motivate the young players on this team like Terry McLaurin and Derrius Guice.

NFL sportsbooks have the Redskins odds at trading for Newton at +125 which leads the odds board.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are on this list for obvious reasons as Tom Brady announced his departure and now are in need of a new starting quarterback. If Newton were to land here, it would really help the Pats modernize their offense to today's NFL. He would also help jumpstart a rebuild in New England.

This would be an interesting fit for the Patriots as it would bring in a mobile quarterback, something that Brady was not.

If there is one place for Newton to get back on his feet, New England is the place as he would have tremendous support under head coach Bill Belichick. Cam Newton’s odds to go to the Patriots are at +170.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are also in obvious need of a quarterback as they can no longer rely on Ryan Fitzpatrick or Josh Rosen after going 5-11. The Fins, however, might go a different route as they own three first-round draft picks including the number five overall pick where they are expected to take Tua Tagovailoa or Justin Herbert.

If for some odd reason they do not take a quarterback in the draft, they could bring Cam on board and see how things work out and could even use him as a holding place until next year's draft.

At this point in the Miami rebuild, they have absolutely nothing to lose and can afford to swing for the fences on this one. Their odds at acquiring the former MVP are at +250.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos could be an underdog destination for Newton to try and get back on his feet. They are one of the more confusing teams in the league for sure as no one knows what to expect from them. Things could go good or bad for them this year.

They traded Emmanuel Sanders and Phillip Lindsay which did not have a repeat of his explosive rookie season. On a positive note, Courtland Sutton has looked great.

Their quarterback situation is horrendous as they just cut Joe Flacco and now are relying on Drew Lock who doesn’t look anywhere near NFL ready. They have nothing to lose by trading for Newton as he could help this team find their identity.

Cam Newton’s odds to play for Denver are at +1000 which would net bettors a hefty return if the Broncos decide to aim for a veteran QB again this offseason.
