Derrick Henry: Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object

  • Derrick Henry has had four straight games with more than 100 rushing yards.
  • Henry has -112 odds to have more than 98.5 rush yards against the Buffalo Bills.
  • The Bills have given up the third fewest yards to opposing running backs.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Derrick Henry has been dominant this NFL season, racking up 640 rushing yards in five games.

Henry has also accounted for seven touchdowns - he has more touchdowns on the ground than his QB, Ryan Tannehill does in the air.

Derrick Henry Rushing Yards

  • OVER 98.5 -112
  • UNDER 98.5 -115

Henry has racked up more than 100 rushing yards in four of his five games - the last four he’s played in, in fact.

The only game in which he did not reach more than 100 rushing yards was in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.

He had his season low for rush attempts in that game at 17 and since then, it seems that his Tennessee Titans coaches have realized the need to get him involved more - he hasn’t had less than 28 rushes in any game since then.

Buffalo has been excellent against the run so far this season, giving up 78.4 rush yards per game, good for third in the league.

They weren’t nearly this effective against the run in 2020, when they gave up 123.1 rush yards per game.

Derrick Henry Rushing Touchdowns

  • At Least One -167
  • At Least Two +300
  • At Least 3 +1700

Henry is a constant touchdown threat, but his actual touchdown scoring comes in fits and starts.

He’s had two games with no rushing touchdowns scored this season, one game with one rushing touchdown scored, and two games with three rushing touchdowns scored.

The Buffalo defense has been the best in the league at preventing rushing touchdowns - they’ve only allowed one the entire year.

This seems to be a classic case of an unstoppable force - Henry - meeting an immovable object - arguably the best rush defense in the league.

If the Bills defense keeps Henry in check, it could mean good things for their Super Bowl odds, but Henry has a way of getting his points in regardless.

Henry’s Tennessee Titans take on the Buffalo Bills at 8:15 p.m. EST for Monday Night Football. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
