BRISTOL, Ct. — ESPN has made it clear that both Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland will not be returning as the commentators for Monday Night Football in the 2020 season.
However, the change also comes with the ability to change the entire format. Odds for who will be a commentator as well as if there will be a 3-man booth come the first Monday Night Football game.
The last time that there were three commentators in the booth was in 1997 when Al Michaels, Frank Gifford and Dan Dierdorf held down the fort for 11 straight years.
However, this is still an underdog to occur on the oddsboard (+200), while it not to happen sits at -300.
Keep in mind though, that things on Monday night could heat up and anything is possible with a new producer and director in Phil Dean and Jimmy Platt.
Who Will Replace Booger On MNF?
When talking about who will step in as the new color commentator, at the top of the odds board is Brian Griese (+300).
Griese, the son of long time commentator Bob Griese, is a proven commentator as he served on Monday Nights in the 2019 season. He has plenty of experience in this field and would be a great fit as he carries loads of information from both college football and the NFL.
Tied with +500 odds of being the color commentator are Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick.
Orlovsky is well known for his NFL and college football analyst as well as being a contributor to ESPN’s Get Up!.
Riddick is one of the more well-known voices in the NFL. He did welcome in the 2019 season on Monday Night Football as he was in the booth with Steve Levy and Brian Griese during the Week 1 kickoff.
Another name that is on the odds board that should catch bettors attention is the former Indianapolis Colts punter, Pat McAfee. McAfee is one of the fastest rising sports media personalities there is.
He has experience in broadcasting as he has called Thursday Night Football and has had a few appearances on ESPN Get Up!.
McAfee came out on Twitter about the open Monday Night position as well.

Although McAfee’s odds are at a far +900, bettors should not count him out.
However, the safer money is focused on Griese and a two-man box.
