- The Buffalo Bills are favored to win the AFC East (+125) this season.
- The New England Patriots have won the AFC East division for the past 11 seasons.
- The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have +800 odds to win the AFC East.
MIAMI — The AFC East will have a different look going into the 2020 NFL regular season as for the first time in two decades the New England Patriots who have dominated the division will be led by a quarterback not named Tom Brady.
The Patriots have captured the AFC East crown every season dating back to 2009 (11 straight) but with Brady out of the picture are the other teams in the division worth betting on this upcoming season.
AFC East Division Odds:
- Buffalo Bills +125
- New England Patriots +130
- Miami Dolphins +800
- New York Jets +800
Buffalo Bills (+125)
The Bills are the favorite to win the AFC East going into the final stretch of the offseason. They finished last season with a 10-6 record and made it to the playoffs last season.
Quarterback Josh Allen will have to take the next step in development as a passer but adding wide receiver Stefon Diggs via trade should help in that regard.
The Bills had one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL last giving up an average of 16.2 points per game which was second in the league behind New England.
However, the New England Patriots will be the biggest factor in how short or long the Bills odds could get if the Patriots remain atop the standings.
Miami Dolphins (+800)
The Dolphins are tied with the New York Jets at +800 odds to win the AFC East.
This might not be the case during the regular season since the Dolphins have revamped their roster through free agency and the NFL Draft. Sitting at +1200 two months ago, bettors have been slowly picking up action on the Dolphins.
First-round pick Tua Tagovailoa is not expected to start under center this season but the additions of cornerback Byron Jones and linebacker Kyle Van Noy will add talent to one of the worst defensive units in the NFL a season ago.
Taking the +800 odds on the Dolphins to come out on top of the AFC East is a risk but comes with an excellent payout. If the Dolphins perform well in the division, bettors could use these odds to hedge their bets.
