2022 Odds For Wilson, Brady To Break NFL Season Records

• Russell Wilson, now on the Denver Broncos, has +2500 odds to do so.
• Brady has +1800 odds to break the touchdown record, while Wilson has +7500 odds to do so.

LAS VEGAS – Tom Brady and Russell Wilson might be in the twilight of their careers, but the online sportsbooks still think they could break records in the 2021 NFL season.

Odds To Break The Passing Yards Record

The NFL record for passing yards in a season is 5477, set by Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos in 2013.

Manning was also a late-career QB, and his excellent mind and top-tier receiving corps led him to the record.

Brady may be aging, but his passing yard totals have ballooned in recent years. The 2021 season – his age 44 season – saw his highest passing yard total in a single season at 5316.

That was the third highest passing yard total in a season all time, just ahead of 34 year old Brady in 2011, and behind 2013 Manning and 2011 Drew Brees.

Wilson does not have the same pedigree as Brady, nor has he had the level of recent yardage success that Brady has.

Wilson’s best season by passing yardage was in 2016, when he racked up 4219 passing yards, but the sportsbooks seem to believe that his receiving corps in Denver gives him a shot at breaking this record.

The passing touchdowns record is held by – who else – 2013 Peyton Manning, with 55.

This record seems farther out of reach by both men. Second place on the all-time list is 2007 Tom Brady, but even in Brady’s incredible 2021 season, he only threw for 44 touchdowns.

In 2020, Wilson managed to throw for 40, putting him at a tie for 15th all time in the seasonal touchdown record book.

Neither QB is anywhere close to favored to break the record, even with the addition of Julio Jones to Brady’s receiving squad.
