Should Todd Gurley Have Higher Expectation On The Falcons?

  • Todd Gurley’s season total for yards is set at 825.5 yards.
  • Todd Gurley is favored to stay under 9.5 rushing touchdowns at -130 odds.

ATLANTA – After an odd season for Todd Gurley with the Los Angeles Rams, Gurley is now looking for a new beginning as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.

NFL sportsbooks have set his season totals during his first year in Atlanta at 825.5 rushing yards to go along with 9.5 touchdowns.

Todd Gurley Regular Season Rushing Yards

  • Over 825.5 -120
  • Under 825.5 -120

Todd Gurley Regular Season Rushing Touchdowns

  • Over 9.5 -110
  • Under 9.5 -130

There is a reason that Todd Gurley’s expectations are set where they are but that is not entirely his fault.

He had a very discouraging season with the Los Angeles Rams as they failed to utilize his talents correctly. Gurley finished his final season in LA with 857 yards and 2 touchdowns while averaging 16.9 attempts per game.

His 2019 numbers are a huge drop off from his 2018 season that saw him as a top back in the league having put up 1,251 yards and 17 touchdowns along with being a must-have RB1 in fantasy football leagues.

However, with a new beginning with the Atlanta Falcons, there is reason to believe that Gurley could get back to that RB1 form.

The Falcons offensive coordinator has already come out saying that he believes Gurley will get 15-25 touches per game which is right around his 20.3 touches per game average already.

It is also clear that Gurley will serve as the lead running back in Atlanta as well. These are two huge signs of relief for not only NFL bettors but also for daily fantasy and fantasy football managers.

Gurley finished off the 2019 season as fantasy football’s 21st ranked running back and now going into the 2020 season, he is listed at the 19th spot.

Being that Gurley is on to a new beginning in Atlanta as the lead running back, not only are his totals set low but fantasy football managers can 100% take the chance on Gurley this season as he is a solid RB2 option with RB1 potential.
