NFL Draft Odds: Should Bijan Be This Favored Over Gibbs?

  • Bijan Robinson has -10000 odds to be the first running back drafted.
  • Robinson is favored to be the eighth overall pick with +135 odds.
  • Jahmyr Gibbs has +1000 odds to be the first running back selected.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One of the main storylines in the 2023 NFL Drafts comes with which running back will be selected first between Texas RB, Bijan Robinson and Alabama RB, Jahmyr Gibbs.

NFL sportsbooks are currently in favor of Robinson being the first back taken off the board by a heavy margin while Gibbs has the shortest odds to be the second overall RB drafted.

NFL Draft Odds: First RB Selected

  • Bijan Robinson -10000
  • Jahmyr Gibbs +1000
  • Zach Charbonnet +8000
  • Devon Achane +10000
  • Kenny McIntosh +10000
  • Tank Bigsby +10000

There’s an argument to make for both of these backs to be taken as the first at their position. Robinson was sixth in the nation with 1,580 rushing yards and scored the fifth most rushing touchdowns with 18. Gibbs, on the other hand, adds more to his receiving game as he had 926 rushing yards, 444 receiving yards, and 10 total touchdowns during his first season with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Odds Making A Case

From a betting standpoint NFL Draft odds all indicate that Robinson will be the first RB taken. He is currently the favorite to be the eighth overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons with +135 odds.

Also, looking at the odds on which running back will be selected second, Gibbs is the heavy favorite with -1000 odds.

It also seems as if Robinson and Gibbs are far ahead of the rest of the running backs in the draft as they are the only two that are favored to go off the board in the first round.

As for potential landing spots for both of them, there are strong chances at both the eighth pick to the Atlanta Falcons or the tenth pick to the Philadelphia Eagles who have the two shortest odds of selecting Robinson with their picks.

Gibbs though is seeing the New England Patriots with the shortest odds (+500) to take him at 14. However, the Eagles have +950 odds while the Falcons are at +2500.

All said and done, regardless of the reports telling otherwise, oddsmakers are all over Bijan Robinson being the first running back taken.
