NFL Draft Odds Day 2: Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, Michael Mayer

  • Will Levis has -370 odds to be drafted before Hendon Hooker.
  • There are +600 odds for the Seattle Seahawks to draft Hendon Hooker.
  • Michael Mayer has +170 odds to be drafted by the Detroit Lions.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The second round of the NFL Draft is set to get underway and there is still plenty of talent remaining and tons of NFL Draft odds still available. Some notable names that are left on the board that have odds on them include QB Will Levis, QB Hendon Hooker, and TE Michael Mayer.

The main storyline though is that Will Levis remains available after he had just a 0.1% chance of not being drafted in the first round and yet here he is heading into day 2. NFL Draft betting even had him with the second shortest odds to be the first overall pick and favored to be the second pick.

With both Levis and Hooker still up, NFL betting sites have head-to-head odds on who is going to be drafted first where Levis is the favorite at -370 odds to Hooker’s +235. That comes as the Pittsburgh Steelers have the 32nd pick and have seen reports of four teams actively looking to trade up for Levis.

Where Is Levis Landing?

Team To Draft Will Levis

  • Rams +350
  • Titans +350
  • Raiders +800
  • Lions +1400
  • Commanders +1400
  • Buccaneers +1400

It is safe to say that Levis will end up with one of the three teams sitting under +1000 odds in the Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, and Las Vegas Raiders. Looking at the Rams, although tied for the shortest odds, they could be the first to count out as they still have some solid years remaining with Matthew Stafford.

As for Tennessee, it’s been heard that they are losing hope in Malik Wills and that Ryan Tannehill won’t be back next season. They’ve also been rumored to be aggressively trying to trade up for him.

Many thought that the Raiders would consider taking Levis at the seventh pick before taking Tyree Wilson. The Raiders were one of the teams that Levis met with numerous times before the draft so the fact that he’s still on the board could have the Raiders revisit that with their seventh pick in round 2.

Is Hendon Hooker Geno’s Successor?

Team to Draft Hendon Hooker

  • Vikings +400
  • Raiders +400
  • Seahawks +600
  • Rams +650
  • Commanders +1000
  • Titans +1000

The Seattle Seahawks would make the most sense for Hooker with their sixth pick in the second round. He has a similar style to Geno Smith in terms of his dual-threat ability and would gain some valuable knowledge sitting behind him.

While the Titans and Raiders are in the market for a QB, they could make a stronger push for Levis given he was higher on each of their boards.

The Minnesota Vikings do sit tied with the shortest odds being that Kirk Cousins is on the last year of his deal and given Minnesota’s lack of playoff success, they could look to go in a different direction by taking Hooker.

3 Potential Landing Spots for Michael Mayer

Team to Draft Michael Mayer

  • Lions+170
  • Packers+400
  • Raiders+1000
  • Commanders+1100
  • Jets+1400
  • Dolphins+2200

Mayer to the Detroit Lions just makes sense. The team is rebuilding their offense after their defense had a successful year last year. Mayer would fill a huge gap in their offense after they traded away T.J. Hockenson last season.

If the Raiders miss out on a QB with their pick and fail to trade up to take one, they could take Mayer is he’s available to help the hole that they lost when Darren Waller was traded to the New York Giants.

A sleeper team that could trade up to take him would be the Miami Dolphins. They are in desperate need of a tight end after losing Mike Gesicki to free agency. Gesicki was a huge redzone threat for Miami with five touchdowns last season and they are going to need to fill that before the season starts.
