Three Teams Favored By Double Digits In NFL Week 7

  • The Arizona Cardinals are 17.5-point favorites over the Houston Texans.
  • The Los Angeles Rams have -110 odds to cover the 15.0-point spread over the Detroit Lions.
  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 12.5-point betting favorites against the Chicago Bears.

GLENDALE, Ariz. – NFL teams favored by 10 or more points are 6-2 against the spread this season. Three teams have the chance to add to that total in Week 7.

Arizona Cardinals Vs. Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are no strangers to being large underdogs this season. Earlier this season, NFL betting sites had the Texans as 18.5-point underdogs to the Buffalo Bills. The Bills went on to win 40-0. Now, the Arizona Cardinals have a chance to have a similar result.

Texans Vs. Cardinals Spread Odds

  • Arizona Cardinals -17.5 -110
  • Houston Texans +17.5 -110

Since the start of the 2003 season, only two teams have closed as 17.5-point favorites and both of them went on to cover the spread. Given that the Cardinals are the only unbeaten team in the league and the Texans are 1-5 with a backup quarterback, it’s tough to see Houston putting up much of a fight. However, three-possession spreads are always a scary line to lay.

The kick-off is scheduled for Sunday at 4:25 p.m. EST and will air on CBS.

Los Angeles Rams Vs. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are the only team in the NFL without a win and it seems highly unlikely that they’ll pick one up this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams. If the betting line holds true, it’ll be the biggest spread margin in a game not involving the Texans.

Lions Vs. Rams Spread Odds

  • Los Angeles Rams -15.0 -110
  • Detroit Lions +15.0 -110

Despite having not won, Detroit is a respectable 3-3 ATS this season. However, Los Angeles is just one of nine teams with an ATS record above .500 on the year. Those betting on the NFL may struggle to back the big favorites in this spot due to the Lions’ ability to hang in games.

The game will begin on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. EST and can be seen on FOX.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. Chicago Bears

In Tom Brady’s career, he is 18-2 straight up against rookie quarterbacks that were selected in the first round of the draft. While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to win, Brady will need to by more than a single possession in order to cover the spread against Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears.

Buccaneers Vs. Bears Spread Odds

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers -12.5 -110
  • Chicago Bears +12.5 -110

The Bears are a beat-up team with David Montgomery and Damien Williams fighting injuries and they have yet to put up much of an offense with Fields under center. Their depleted offense against the Super Bowl 56 favorites doesn’t make for an enjoyable matchup for Chicago.

CBS will have coverage of the game beginning at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.
