Season Total Odds For DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle

  • Jaylen Waddle has his betting totals set at 775 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
  • Devonta Smith’s season totals at NFL sportsbooks are set at 800 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.

MIAMI - Now that the 2021 NFL Draft class has been drafted to their new teams, bettors can now begin looking at what different rookies season totals are at.

Season totals are projections from online sportsbooks on how a player will perform in which bettors can wager on if they will under perform or over perform the total.

Narrowing it down, NFL sportsbooks have season totals set for the pair of Alabama Crimson Tide receivers that were selected in the first round, Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith.

Jaylen Waddle Season Totals

Jaylen Waddle Receiving Yards Odds

  • Over 775 -120
  • Under 775 -120

Jaylen Waddle Total TD’s Any Kind Odds

  • Over 6 -130
  • Under 6 -110

Jaylen Waddle was the second receiver taken off the board and the first Alabama receiver at that. There are no doubts as to why the Miami Dolphins took him as he was a bonified star while playing at Alabama. However, injuries did take a toll on him in the 2019 and 2020 seasons where he did not even manage to hit over 600 yards in both years. Something else to take note of is that he was surrounded by other star receivers at Alabama as well like Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy, and Devonta Smith.

Looking at his season total for receiving yards for his rookie season, some might think that they are set too high considering both his injuries and also the talent that is surrounding him such as DeVante Parker and Will Fuller which leaves Waddle at the WR3 spot.

Being that Waddle won't even be the second option on the Dolphins, it is safe to say that the Under could be taken for his receiving totals.

As for his touchdowns, Waddle might have a chance to hit the over. Six touchdowns is very manageable and Waddle has hit or pushed the over in two of his three seasons at Alabama. Not to mention, his current quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, was the one throwing him the ball in the two seasons that he hit and pushed it.

Bettors can certainly look for Tua to get his former Bama teammate involved in the endzone.

Devonta Smith Season Totals

Devonta Smith Receiving Yards

  • Over 800 -110
  • Under 800 -130

Devonta Smith Total TD’s Any Kind

  • Over 6 -110
  • Under 6 -130

There is a reason that Devonta Smith is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. He is coming off of a spectacular season where he put up 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Not to mention, the previous season in 2019 he put up 12,56 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Right now, Smith could not have asked to be drafted by a better team than the Philadelphia Eagles as he is going to have a shot at stepping in as the WR1 at some point in the season given how lackluster their receiving core is.

Also, Eagles current QB1, Jalen Hurts, was Smith’s quarterback in Alabama as well before he transferred to Oklahoma.

From the standpoint of Smith’s receiving yard totals, bettors should be all on the Over as he has the potential to overthrow Jalen Reagor as the WR1 easily. Being that he will not be sharing the field with any receiver that has even close to the same explosiveness that he does, bettors can feel more than comfortable taking the Over here.

Similarly to his receiving total, Smith should have no problem hitting six touchdowns or more on the season. Looking back at his last two years with Alabama, he hit the Over by a landslide in both years even with very talented receivers lining up next to him.

That said, bettors should count on easy money here from Smith’s touchdowns.
