Sam Darnold Favored To Play For The Indianapolis Colts Next

NEW YORK — With the NFL’s offseason just now getting underway, the quarterback frenzy has begun with potential landing spots for New York Jets quarterback, Sam Darnold.

Darnold has been linked to plenty of trade rumors this season, and now with the offseason here, one of those rumors could turn into reality. With that said, NFL sportsbooks have odds on Darnold’s next team and the Indianapolis Colts are the favorites.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are the current leaders on the odds boards here being that they have just lost their starting quarterback, Philip Rivers, to retirement and are now in the need of a starting-caliber quarterback.

The Colts could be in line here for Darnold as they would surely give him more opportunity than the Jets have considering they not only have more weapons on offense but also one of the top offensive lines in the league as well.

However, there have not been any concrete rumors on the Colts making a run for Darnold just yet. With that said, the Colts are a solid betting option, but money could certainly be made elsewhere.

Houston Texans

It is surprising that the Houston Texans are not, in fact, the favorites to land Sam Darnold. The reason being is that the Texans current starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has listed the New York Jets as one of his desired trade destinations.

If Watson were to be traded to the Jets, Sam Darnold would 100% be apart of any trade considering that the Texans would not have a starting quarterback without him. Also, trade rumors for Watson have already begun to heat up which could mean a trade is coming sooner rather than later. Knowing this, there is definitely money to be made here.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are seen as more of a dark horse team to land the services of Sam Darnold being that they have both Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. The storyline here for the Bears is that Trubisky has not turned out to be the quarterback that they have hoped for and Nick Foles, who they got to replace Trubisky, has turned out to be slightly worse.

At this point, the Bears just need an answer at the starting quarterback position and fast which is why Sam Darnold could be on the move to the Windy City. The Bears have also been linked to Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles though. Darnold, however, would come to Chicago at a much lower asking price which could be the deciding factor for them.
