Odds Shakeup at the Top of AFC, NFC, SB57 Oddsboards

  • The Kansas City Chiefs are favored to win Super Bowl 57 at +425 odds.
  • The Buffalo Bills have +225 odds to win the AFC Championship.
  • The San Francisco 49ers have +250 odds to win the NFC Championship.

PHOENIX – With the NFL season already deep into the second half of the year, different teams are starting to solidify themselves at the top of the Super Bowl oddsboards and conference championship oddsboards. More recently though, there has been a major shift towards the top.

Super Bowl 57 Odds

  • Kansas City Chiefs +450
  • Buffalo Bills +475
  • San Francisco 49ers +600
  • Philadelphia Eagles +700
  • Dallas Cowboys +950

The Buffalo Bills had been the favorites on the Super Bowl 57 oddsboard for most of the season, however, following Week 12, the Kansas City Chiefs have overtaken them.

The Chiefs Super Bowl odds did open as the favorites back in January at +700, however, it didn’t take long for the Bills to tie and eventually take the lead. It’s been a bit of a rocky, but positive battle for the Chiefs since the start of the season as they went into Week 1 with +1000 odds.

They finally made their way to under +800 after Week 10 and they’ve seen their odds shorten every week since and rightfully so. They have the second-best record in the league and are playing behind Patrick Mahomes who currently leads the NFL in both passing yards (3,585) and passing touchdowns (29) through 12 weeks.

AFC Championship Odds

  • Kansas City Chiefs +190
  • Buffalo Bills +225
  • Miami Dolphins +750
  • Baltimore Ravens +800

Aside from the Chiefs jumping the Bills SB57 odds, they also jumped them in the AFC Championship odds not only because of their own play but because of injuries affecting Buffalo.

After starting the season a strong 6-1 and sitting at a strong +130 favorite to win the AFC Championship on Bovada, injuries started to catch up to them and saw the Bills go 2-2 in the four weeks after that pushing back their odds. Of those two wins though, both have come within single digits which is unusual considering they are averaging a winning margin of 10 points this season.

The Bills defense, who allowed the fewest points per game last season, is dealing with some critical injuries to key pieces like Greg Rousseau, Tremaine Edmunds, Micah Hyde, Kaiir Elam, and newly acquired, Von Miller.

Given that there are still six weeks left in the regular season though, it gives the Bills a chance to get healthy and restore their once favored odds. In terms of when to bet on these odds, right now would be the time to take Buffalo’s odds being that they are trending in the wrong direction with their injuries.

As for the Chiefs odds, more value could be coming later on in the season if Buffalo’s odds do rise.

NFC Championship Odds

  • San Francisco 49ers +250
  • Philadelphia Eagles +260
  • Dallas Cowboys +400
  • Minnesota Vikings +650

In the NFC, there’s been a mix up in the odds as well with the San Francisco 49ers taking the slight edge on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles took over as the NFC Championship favorites in late September after opening the season at +1800 and have pushed their odds lower and lower each week after starting the season undefeated before suffering their first loss in week 10.

In the two wins since their first loss though, they’ve barely held on with just a 1-point win over the Indianapolis Colts and a touchdown win on the Green Bay Packers in which was the second most points they’ve allowed all season.

The 49ers odds came into the picture after trading for Christian McCaffrey back in Week 7 which is when their odds went from +1000 to +650. The acquisition of CMC has been explosive for the Niners as they’ve gone 4-1 with him and have scored 3+ touchdowns in three of the four games.

With both teams playing at such a high level, right now is the time to take them both as it is shaping out to be a two-team race for the conference title.
