Jets Odds Come Out Of Darkness Retreat After Rodgers Trade

  • The New York Jets have traded for Aaron Rodgers.
  • There are now +1300 odds for the Jets to win the Super Bowl.
  • Aaron Rodgers has -110 odds to throw for over 4050 passing yards.

NEW YORK – It finally happened! The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers officially sent through a trade that has sent Aaron Rodgers to New York.

The Jets sent their 2023 13th overall pick, 2023 second and sixth-round picks, and a conditional second-round pick in 2024 that can become a first if Rodgers plays 65% of snaps in exchange for Rodgers, the 2023 15th overall pick, and a 2023 5th round pick.

This trade has had an immediate impact on the New York Jets Super Bowl odds across the board with all of their odds dropping in value closer to the favored position. Currently, the Jets odds sit at:

  • Jets Super Bowl Odds: +1300
  • Jets AFC Championship Odds: +750
  • Jets AFC East Odds: +250
  • Jets Odds To Make Playoffs: -155
  • Jets Win Total: 9.5

Looking at their Super Bowl 58 odds, AFC Championship odds, and their odds to win the AFC East, all of them are at their shortest preseason form since the 2011 season. At their opening position, the Jets SB58 odds came in at +4000 while their AFC Championship odds opened at +1400. Their odds to win the AFC East opened down the line with all of the Rodgers rumors already taking place so they went live at +250.

As far as their win total and odds to make the playoffs, it’s their first time favored to make the playoffs also since 2011 and their highest win total since then as well.

Aaron Rodgers Player Props

Following the trade, player prop odds for Aaron Rodgers immediately opened for his total passing yards, total touchdowns, and total interceptions along with specials on the Jets as a whole.

Aaron Rodgers Passing Yard Total

  • Over 4050 -110
  • Under 4050 -130

Over Rodgers’ last six fully healthy seasons, four of them have hit over 4,050 passing yards while five of them have gone for 4,000+. He’s stepping into a much better receiving core with the Jets than what he had last season in Green Bay and a defense that is expected to keep him on the field more often than not.

Although the Jets passing game was atrocious last season, as a whole they still managed 4,000+ passing yards.

Aaron Rodgers Touchdown Total

  • Over 30.5 -105
  • Under 30.5 -135

Over his last three seasons, Rodgers has been on another planet in terms of touchdowns thrown with 111 which comes out to an average of 37 over that three-year span. He’s also been one of the best redzone QBs in that time as well with 20+ touchdowns thrown inside the 20 yard line in each of those seasons.

It’s also worth noting that Allen Lazard, who caught six touchdowns in Green Bay last season, is joining Rodgers in New York.

Aaron Rodgers INT Total

  • Over 9.5 -110
  • Under 9.5 -130

Oddsmakers got this one right listing the under as the favorite here. Rodgers has only thrown over 9.5 interceptions three times in his career including 2022, but has never done so in back-to-back seasons.

Aaron Rodgers To Win 2+ Super Bowls With Jets

  • Yes +4000

While the hype surrounding the Jets is real, the reality of it is that in Rodgers first year, they’ll still be learning to play with each other and many also can’t forget that this is still a very young team. Also, there is no guarantee that Rodgers is going to commit to playing 2+ years for the Jets either. He’s 39 years old and has already publicly spoke about his retirement before being traded.
