GREEN BAY, Wis. – Week 2 of the NFL season is being capped off by a Monday Night Football bout in the NFC North between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.

NFL sportsbooks are heavily favoring the Green Bay Packers, however, the Detroit Lions could be one of the leagues quietest underdogs in Week 2 after a strong Week 1 outing.

Green Bay Packers Vs. Detroit Lions

  • Moneyline: Packers (-555) vs. Lions (+395)
  • Spread: Packers -11.5
  • Total: 48.5 Points

Packers Vs. Lions Moneyline

There should be no doubts as to why the Green Bay Packers are heavily favored to win this matchup being that both teams are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of contending for a Super Bowl. Also, the Packers have won four straight meetings against the Lions and are in line to make it five straight.

However, Detroit may be worth a slight risk solely based on their performance in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Lions found themselves down 28 points in Week 1 and rallied back to almost pull off an upset before losing by eight points.

If the Lions can keep that momentum going, they have a nice shot.

Packers Vs. Lions Spread

The Lions were 14-point underdogs ahead of their Week 1 outing with the 49ers and came back to cover. On the Packers side, they took on a 38-3 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.

Still, the Detroit Lions have gone 6-2 against the spread in their last eight Monday Night Football matchups and are 4-1 in their last five games against the NFC North.

The Packers though, are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games following a loss but Green Bay is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games when facing a team with a losing record.

Packers Vs. Lions Game Total

Trends are backing up the Under hitting. The Under has gone 4-0 in the Packers last four games against a team with a losing record.

It is also 5-1 in the Packers last six games against a team with a losing road record.

On the Lions side, the Under is 6-2-1 in their last nine Week 2 games. Looking at the last five meetings between the Packers and the Lions, the Under has gone 4-1.
