MIAMI – As the second half of the NFL season continues to heat up, the odds to win the AFC Championship are as well.

The three teams to keep an eye on to win the AFC title include the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Miami Dolphins. All of them have odds under +1000 on NFL betting sites to win the conference championship.

AFC Championship Odds

  • Buffalo Bills +185
  • Kansas City Chiefs +225
  • Cincinnati Bengals +600
  • Miami Dolphins +800

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs odds to win the AFC title are in great position as they sit tied for first place at a 9-3 record and have a strong shot to lock up a bye week in the first round of the playoffs. This comes as they have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL with their remaining opponents combining for a 24-41-1 record. That includes two games against the Denver Broncos and one vs. the Houston Texans, both of which are 5+ games under .500.

Strengthening their odds, even more, is that they are one of the least injured teams in the league with just two of their starters on offense out in Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Kadarius Toney.

The Chiefs have remained in the top-two shortest odds to win the AFC Championship all season and their odds have continued to get shorter and shorter nearly every week as well after opening the preseason at +400 odds.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals AFC Championship odds have been on a rollercoaster ride, but have slowly solidified themselves as one of the favorites to win. They did so after Ja’Marr Chase missed weeks 8-12 and still managed to go 3-1 through those four games scoring 30+ points in three of those games. While they might not have the easiest schedule remaining with their opponents combining for a 39-27 record, they’ve shown that they can compete with the best in the league after their Week 13 win over the Chiefs.

Following the loss of Chase heading into Week 8, the Bengals odds to win the AFC title were at +1200 and shot up to +1800. After Chase’s return in Week 13 that led to this huge win, their odds plummeted to +600.

Although Chase did return, there are still some significant injuries that Cincy is dealing with including both Joe Mixon and Hayden Hurst who have made up 1,319 yards of the offense this season. The Bengals should have enough space to hold on to their playoff spot, at 8-4, but with their remaining schedule being tough, they’ll likely miss out on the bye.

Miami Dolphins

After going into the season with +2100 odds to win the AFC, the Dolphins odds have secured a spot in the top-5 in recent weeks after winning five of their last six games. They were at the +2100 mark prior to their hot streak and have seen their odds shoot down every week since. They’ve got one of the tougher schedules remaining though with a 38-29 record for their remaining opponents with just one of them sitting under a .500 record.

Injuries are going to play a major role for them as well with both starting tackles, Terron Armstead and Austin Jackson both out. Tua Tagovailoa has also been dealing with an ankle injury that isn’t deemed serious, however, with his protection getting weaker and the opposing defenses getting tougher, they could struggle.

If the Dolphins could hand tight though, they could sneak back into the bye week in the playoffs with one game remaining against the Buffalo Bills who currently hold on to one of those spots.
