2021 NFL Injury Report Week 6: Who’s Hurt And Who Benefits

  • Khalil Herbert is set to lead the Chicago Bears backfield with David Montgomery and Damien Williams out.
  • Adam Humphries could be in line for an increased workload if Terry McLaurin misses Sunday’s game.
  • Kareem Hunt is set up for a monster game with Nick Chubb officially ruled out.

CHICAGO – An injury report can provide some of the most important information on a week-to-week basis. For Week 6, a handful of key players will be out leaving a lot of volume to make up for.

Khalil Herbert Replaces David Montgomery/Damien Williams

David Montgomery is on the injured reserve list which left Damien Williams as the lead back for the Chicago Bears. However, now Williams has been added to the COVID-19 list and is in danger to miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

NFL betting sites have yet to give Khalil Herbert, the apparent replacement, any rushing totals but once Williams is officially ruled out, the lines should be added.

Khalil Herbert Anytime Touchdown Scorer

  • Yes -115

The Bears run the ball at the third-highest rate of any team in the NFL. It’s likely better to look into his rushing totals rather than receiving since Chicago has targeted their running backs just 22 times this season, the fourth-fewest in the league.

Adam Humphries WR1 In Washington Without McLaurin

Terry McLaurin missed practice on Friday which is never a good sign for a player’s availability on Sunday. If he were to miss the game, Adam Humphries would be the one to benefit the most.

Terry McLaurin Receptions Total

  • OVER 5.5 -160
  • UNDER 5.5 +120

With such short odds to have at least six receptions in this game, Humphries seems to be the most likely target to absorb them. Betting sites should take notice that he is second on the team in receptions, targets, and receiving yards and adjust his lines accordingly.

Kareem Hunt Finally Gets To Lead A Backfield Again

Kareem Hunt as a starting running back is a scary sight for the rest of the NFL. He led the league in rushing yards his rookie season and will now have another chance to be the lead back as Nick Chubb has been ruled out.

Kareem Hunt Touchdowns

  • At Least 1 -150
  • At Least 2 +475

The Cleveland Browns are the most lethal rushing team in the league with an NFL-best 12 touchdowns and 187.6 rushing yards per game. He’ll also be facing the Arizona Cardinals who allow the fourth-most rushing yards per game at 139.0 per game.
