Can The Commanders Get It Together?
The Commanders Super Bowl odds falling behind this season isn’t entirely on their play, but more on injuries, as Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz, and several other key pieces missed time last year.
Washington did not let its struggles go to waste, though, as they ended up with a top-5 draft pick and selected linebacker Sonny Styles while also adding Javon Kinlaw and K’Lavon Chaisson as well.
On offense, Daniels is now fully healthy, and he gets a nice new receiver in Stefon Diggs who’ll play alongside Terry McLaurin and Luke McCaffrey, who many around the organization expect a jump from. Deebo Samuel did leave in free agency.
While the Commanders finished as a bottom-10 offense and defense last season due to injury, we saw what this team is capable of when fully healthy with most of this same core in 2024 when they made a run to the NFC Championship.
A look at their schedule, they’ll play a young New York Giants team twice as divisional opponents and finish their season with a stretch against the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Minnesota Vikings in the final seven weeks.
