  • The Cowboys have +190 odds to win the NFC East.

DALLAS – America’s Team is trending way up, and the Dallas Cowboys may be on their way back to being competitive. Dallas made all of the necessary moves to address its weaknesses, and oddsmakers took that into consideration.

Super Bowl sportsbooks adjusted all of Dallas’ odds compared to where they opened last season, with all of them taking a clear step forward.

Dallas Cowboys Preseason Odds

  • Super Bowl: +2200
  • NFC Championship: +1100
  • NFC East: +190

The Cowboys odds were in a significantly worse position than where they were last season. Last season, they went in with +6000 Super Bowl odds, +3000 NFC Championship odds, and +675 odds to win the NFC West.

Making Adjustments

Offense has not been an issue for the Cowboys in recent seasons, and last year was no different, having finished top-10 in points and second in total yards. When Dak Prescott is healthy, he is one of the best passers in the league, and he has one of the best receiving rooms in the NFL with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

On defense, this was one of the worst units in the league last year, allowing the most points per game and the third-most yards. They addressed nearly every position. On the defensive line, they surrounded Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark with a mixture of edge rushers and outside linebackers such as LT Overtown, whom they drafted in the fourth round, Rashan Gary from Green Bay, and first-round pick Malachi Lawrence.

In the secondary, where they allowed a league-high 251.5 pass yards per game, they drafted safety Caleb Downs in the first round and signed Jalen Thompson, Cobie Durant, P.J. Locke, DaRon Bland and Malik Hooker will fill out the rest of the secondary.
