- Matthew Stafford is favored to win the NFL MVP with -275 odds.
- There are +200 odds for Drake Maye to win the MVP.
LOS ANGELES – The race for the NFL MVP is heating up quickly as the regular season comes to a close, with Matthew Stafford holding a close lead over Drake Maye.
Super Bowl sportsbooks have been flopping back and forth between Stafford and Maye as favorites to win the MVP for over two months now. However, Stafford might have solidified his odds over the last few weeks.
NFL Regular Season MVP Odds 2025-26
- Matthew Stafford (LAR) -275
- Drake Maye (NE) +200
- Trevor Lawrence (JAX) +20000
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba (SEA) +25000
- Josh Allen (BUF) +30000
- Justin Herbert (LAC) +30000
They are separated by less than 100 total passing yards on the season, with Maye throwing for 4,203 yards and Stafford right behind him at 4,179. Where Stafford has pulled away is in passing touchdowns with 40, where he leads the league and throwing just five interceptions.
Maye has thrown for 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
As far as what the odds journey has been, they’ve been neck and neck since mid-October, when Maye was favored over Stafford to win at +1400 to +1600. Maye remained favored for the next month until Stafford took over in mid-November with +135 odds to +180. They flopped back and forth for the next two weeks until December 9 where Stafford took over and has remained favored since.
Super Bowl Odds Playing A Factor
This race could very well come down to the Super Bowl, and if that were the case, Stafford would have an even bigger leg up than he already does, given the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl odds of +500, which are the shortest in the league. The New England Patriots Super Bowl odds are listed at +1000.
This could very well come down to experience and their playoff runs, which Stafford has the ultimate experience, having won a Super Bowl, while this would be not only Maye’s first playoff game, but many of their young core as well.
