LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Rams pulled off arguably the biggest move of the NFL offseason after trading for star defensive end Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. In order to acquire Garrett, the Rams gave up rising star edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.
Following the trade, Super Bowl sportsbooks were quick to update their odds on the Rams for Super Bowl 61, seeing them strengthen their contending status even further. Prior to the trade, they sat at +800 odds and saw them drop to +525 on Bovada after the move.
Super Bowl 61 Odds
- Los Angeles Rams +525
- Buffalo Bills +1100
- Baltimore Ravens +1200
- Seattle Seahawks +1200
- Kansas City Chiefs +1500
- San Francisco 49ers +1600
- Los Angeles Chargers +1800
- New England Patriots +1800
- Philadelphia Eagles +1800
The Rams Super Bowl 61 odds were already sitting in the top spot before the trade. They originally opened at +600 before sliding back to +800 ahead of the move.
What does this do for the Rams?
With the addition of arguably the best defensible lineman in the NFL today, it solidifies the Rams' already tough front seven that allowed just 110.8 rush yards per game last season, along with 47 sacks.
Garrett alone had nearly half that as he set the single-season sack record with 23 and helped Cleveland to 53 total on the year.
Outside of the trade and their odds shortening, there has also been speculation on former Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald coming out of retirement, which would most certainly improve their odds even further.
