Which Co-Favorite Is More Likely?

Mike McCarthy (+750)

To many, it may be surprising to see Mike McCarthy’s name atop the odds boards. The Cowboys are supposed to be a good team and only struggled last season because Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending surgery.

It’s tough to see McCarthy getting fired after just one full season with the team and only a handful of games with the franchise quarterback. Despite all of this, sports betting sites have him listed with the shortest odds.

Vic Fangio (+750)

Logistically, Vic Fangio makes a lot more sense to be fired first. He went from 7-9 in his first season as a head coach to 5-11 in his second. If the trend of regression keeps up NFL bettors siding with Fangio might see their ticket cash.

The Broncos offense isn’t set up for that much success with the starting quarterback job up in the air between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater. Denver is also in a much tougher division and could be out of the playoff race much earlier than Dallas.

Longshot Possibility

There are so many coaches to choose from, but maybe some a little more likely than the others. Outside of the top ten on the odds board, the rest of the coaches   *) due to either their current coaching records or contracts.

Mike Zimmer (+1100)

Mike Zimmer has been the coach in Minnesota for seven years and has yet to win more than a single game during a playoff run. The Vikings are coming off of a seven-win season and could see a coaching change if things start off slow.

At the end of the day, this is a guessing game more than anything. There’s no real way to tell who will be the first coach fired before the season even starts.
