Justin Herbert Expected To Be Great By Online Sportsbooks

  • The Los Angeles Chargers take on the Las Vegas Raiders On Sunday Night Football.
  • Chargers QB Justin Herbert has -114 odds to pass for more than 276.5 yards.
  • He has -185 odds to pass for more than 1.5 touchdowns.

LOS ANGELES - Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers have a chance to make it to the NFL playoffs with a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Herbert has been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL in 2021-22. He’s fourth in passing yards with 4631 on the season and tied for fifth in passing touchdowns with 35.

It should come as no surprise that the online sportsbooks are expecting him to have quite a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Justin Herbert Passing Yards O/U Odds

  • Over 276.5 -114
  • Under 276.5 -114

Herbert is averaging 289.4 passing yards per game, well over the O/U that he has here against the Raiders.

The last time these teams met, Herbert passed for only 222 yards in a Week 4 matchup that saw his Los Angeles Chargers win 28-14.

Las Vegas is one of the better pass defenses in the NFL - or has been over the course of the season. The Raiders are giving up 214 pass yards per game, which is 10th in the league.

Herbert is a very good quarterback, but he’s facing a talented defense that has held many of their opponents under this lofty O/U projection.

Justin Herbert Passing Touchdowns O/U Odds

  • Over 1.5 -185
  • Under 1.5 +140

Herbert’s passing touchdowns O/U odds are heavily slanted towards him passing for two or more touchdowns, and with good reason.

Herbert has passed for 35 touchdowns on the year, averaging more than two per game. Even though he only passed for 222 yards against the Raiders in Week 4, he threw three passing touchdowns in that game.

Herbert has only had five games this season with less than 1.5 passing touchdowns, and two of those games were in the first two weeks of the season.

His -185 odds to end up with two or more seem to be more than fair, especially since the Raiders are 19th in the league at preventing passing touchdowns.

They give up an average of 1.6 passing touchdowns per game, and Herbert averages 2.18 passing touchdowns per game.

This seems like a very fair line for NFL betting fans to take, especially compared with the passing yards line.
