Eagles, Cowboys NFC East Odds Sit Far Ahead

• The Philadelphia Eagles are favored to win the NFC East with +130 odds.
• There are +170 odds for the Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC East.
• Both the New York Giants and Washington Commanders have +650 NFC East odds.

PHILADELPHIA – The NFC East comes into this season top-heavy with both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys sitting ahead of the New York Giants and Washington Commanders.

Super Bowl sportsbooks give the Eagles a slight advantage over the Cowboys while both the Giants and Commanders are tied for the longest odds. Both the Eagles and Cowboys have won each of the last five NFC East titles.

Can The Eagles Stay Afloat?

While the Eagles odds are atop the board, some concerns come up with their offseason losses. Starting on offense, AJ Brown was traded away, while the defense suffered notable losses in Nakobe Dean, Reed Blankenship, Azeez Ojulari, and Josh Uche, to name a few.

While they did a nice job in replacing their losses by drafting Makai Lemon at receiver and adding Riq Woolen from the Seattle Seahawks, the losses outweigh the additions in this case.

Cowboys Catching Up?

Dallas hasn’t had issues on offense, having finished as a top-10 unit in six of Dak Prescott’s 10 seasons with the team. However, holding the Cowboys odds back has been their defense, which is coming off its worst season in history, allowing the most points per game to opponents.

The Cowboys made several moves on defense this offseason in the form of five draft picks and 12 free agency signings. The most notable out of the draft are safety Caleb Downs and outside linebacker Malachi Lawrence, who were taken in the first round. In free agency, they added Rashan Gary, Von Miller, Colbie Durant, and Jalen Thompson.

On paper and on a name basis alone, this defense has one of the higher ceilings in the league and could play a crucial role.

Giants Surging, But Not Ready To Compete

The Giants odds are rising, having jumped all the way up from +2200 last season. This comes following the hire of Jim Harbaugh and his ability to develop young talent, as we’ve seen in the past. Especially in QBs, where he gets to work with Jaxson Dart. Malik Nabers is also set to return at receiver after suffering a torn ACL last season.

Aside from developing the young talent, the Giants made other notable signings in free agency, including Isaiah Likely at tight end, who follows Harbaugh from the Baltimore Ravens, and Greg Newsome, Tremaine Edmunds, DJ Reader, and Shelby Harris on defense.

Commanders Continue Sliding

Although the Commanders odds are tied with the Giants at the bottom, they are headed in the opposite direction. Following their 2024 season, which ended in an NFC Championship appearance, Washington suffered injuries that led to 5-12 and a third-place finish in the NFC East in 2025.

Following last season, the Commanders lost several pieces in free agency in center Tyler Biadasz, receiver Deebo Samuel, and CB Jonathan Jones.

There are some key moves to keep in mind, such as the additions of Stefon Diggs, Nick Cross, and K’Lavon Chaisson.
