Not Ready To Compete
On paper, fully healthy, and at the top of their game, this team has a great mixture of veteran presence and young players. However, the world isn’t perfect, and it starts in the QB room where Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders continue competing for the QB1 slot.
Watson hasn’t played since 2024 and hasn’t played a full season since 2020. Sanders comes into his second season having posted 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across eight appearances last year. With the QB controlling the offense and neither of them showing any form of life as of late, it's hard to back any of their odds for the year.
Outside of the QB position, though, this has the making of a young, up-and-coming roster. Cleveland drafted twice in the first round, taking offensive tackle Spencer Fano and receiver KC Concepcion. Denzel Boston, Austin Barber, and Parker Brailsford were also selected in the first five rounds.
As for who is already on the roster, Harold Fannin is turning into one of the premier tight ends in the league, Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson are becoming a solid running back duo, and Jared Verse is one of the best edge rushers in the league going into his third season.
