MIAMI – There is some major trouble in paradise brewing for the Miami Dolphins as they now sit at a 1-4 record to start their 2025 season.
With their brutal start to the year, Super Bowl sportsbooks now have Mike McDaniel as the heavy odds on favorite to be the first NFL head coach fired this season.

- Mike McDaniel -115
- Brian Callahan +260

What Has Led To McDaniel’s To This Point
For starters, the Miami Dolphins Super Bowl odds have decreased over the horrible start to their season (1-4). They did start last season with a 1-3 record as well.
In addition to the slow start, Miami just isn’t clicking anywhere. They’re averaging just 21.4 ppg, which is in the bottom half of the league, and averaging the fifth least amount of offensive yards per game at 278.6 per game. Defensively, teams are running up 29 ppg and 386.6 yards per game against them. Both of which are bottom five in the league.
Prior to this season, McDaniel really hasn’t done much to vouch for to save his job. He’s missed the playoffs in three of his five full seasons as head coach. Even in both of the years that he led them to the playoffs, they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round.
To make matters even worse, the Dolphins just lost their leading playmaker, Tyreek Hill, for the season with a leg injury, which should add an even tougher test of winning games for McDaniel and the Dolphins.
