Back Eagles To Run Through Kansas City: NFL Week 2 Odds

  • The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-point favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs.
  • AJ Brown has +170 odds to score a touchdown.
  • Devonta Smith has +200 anytime touchdown odds.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A rematch of Super Bowl 59 is on deck for Week 2 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in what oddsmakers are leaning towards being the closest matchup of the week based on the spread.

Just a 1-point spread is set on Super Bowl sportsbooks in favor of the defending champs, the Eagles, on the road. We’re looking at this as a questionable line with things to consider on both ends.

Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Moneyline: Eagles (-120) vs. Chiefs (+100)
  • Spread: Eagles -1
  • Total: 47

Everyone should be on the Eagles odds to win here, with one of the main factors being the injuries and absences to the Chiefs receiving room. Kansas City is already without Rashee Rice, who is serving a six game suspension, and now potentially without Xavier Worthy, who dislocated his shoulder on the first drive of Week 1.

The Chiefs also looked outright flat in their 27-21 Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes attempted 39 passed and connected on 61.5% of them for 258 yards and one touchdown. Also, outside of Mahomes 57 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt only put up 41 yards on 10 total carries.

Philly was also one of the strongest road teams last season, at a 6-2 record with a 9.8 winning margin and +8.5 cover margin against the spread. Kansas City had a -0.9 cover margin against the spread when playing at home last season.

Brown, Smith Find The Endzone For Philly

This is a tremendous spot to back both AJ Brown (+170) and Devonta Smith (+200) to each score touchdowns. While the Eagles run game was elite last week with 158 total yards and three touchdowns, the Chiefs run defense was just as good, allowing 90 yards, no touchdowns, and just 3.6 yards per carry.

This could force Jalen Hurts to look for scoring options through the air, and who better than one of the best WR duos in the NFL? Last week, the Chiefs secondary allowed for three passing touchdowns. Also, it’s worth mentioning that in the Super Bowl last year, both Brown and Smith caught touchdowns.
