Week 1 Monday Night Football Betting: Broncos Vs. Chiefs

  • The Kansas City Chiefs are 2.5-point favorites against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
  • The Denver Broncos have +125 odds to beat the Kansas City Chiefs on MNF.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The final game of Week 1 of the NFL is an AFC West Monday Night Football showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. It’s the Chiefs who come into this one as home favorites.

Super Bowl sportsbooks give the Chiefs just under a field goal margin on the spread at 2.5 points. There is reason to believe that Denver could come into this one and spoil the Chiefs' home debut.

Denver Broncos Vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Moneyline: Broncos (+125) vs. Chiefs (-145)
  • Spread: Chiefs -2.5 (-115)
  • Total: 43.5

Plus Money Value?

There is a world where the Broncos odds offer plenty of value in this one. Denver was a top-15 passing offense last season with Bo Nix totaling over 3,700 yards and 25 touchdowns. While Kansas City presented one of the tougher secondaries in the NFL last season at 195.8 pass yards allowed per game, they lost their top two cornerbacks in Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.

The Broncos' pass game is also expected to take a noticeable step forward with the addition of Jaylen Waddle. Waddle now joins the Broncos following his 910-yard, six-touchdown outing on a Miami Dolphins offense that ranked bottom-10 in the league in pass yards per game last season.

There is also a case to make that Patrick Mahomes is not 100% coming into this one. He was only cleared to resume football activities around a month ago after tearing his ACL last season. This could play a massive role against a Denver Broncos defense that was top-3 in the league in points allowed (18.3) and yards allowed (278.2).
