Backing the Rams odds coming into Week 1 is their league-leading offense, which suffered no losses in the offseason, while the defense was a top-10 unit. The Rams only got stronger in the offseason with the addition of Aaron Donald on the defensive line and Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie in the secondary.
Do not count out the 49ers odds though, with their major offensive additions. The 49ers were a top-10 unit in the league last season at 25.7 points and top-5 in passing yards with 244.5 per game. Some of the biggest additions were made in the receiving room with Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, and second-round pick De’Zhaun Stribling.
In last season's regular-season series, the two split the series 1-1. The Rams lost in overtime the first time around 26-23 while they ran away in the final meeting 42-26.
The Rams have the experience edge here, being that they’re already an established offense while the 49ers still need to gain that in game chemistry.
